I'm alive!!!

I have been wanting to run outside for the entire 7 weeks that I have been resting my foot.  I was a little nervous about the cold but the run was AWESOME!!

33 degrees and even sunny!

Beautiful day!

I wore my warm NIKE tights, a running tshirt, long sleeve half zip and my new warm yellow Lululemon shirt.  I topped it off with my Saucony Hurricane's to match!  I was plenty warm but not hot.  I had gloves and a hat too.

I ran 5 miles in 55:45 and then ran/jogged back to my car.

I was able to wear my new crocheted hat too!  Just an all around wonderful run.  I don't know what it is about running at a park, but seeing people out walking their dogs and taking their kids to play in the snow just makes me feel happy and positive.  I smiled at everyone I was so thrilled to be outside and running.  I took it slow and kept one earbud out so that I could pay attention to my feet and how they were landing.  By the end of the run I was a little tired and my foot ached a bit, but not more then it does all the time.

My foot actually feels great right now.  I iced and elevated like usually but I feel no pain right now.  I don't think it's going to get better then it is now as long as I run, but I'm sure I'll get through the Key West Ragnar.  After that I meet with my Orthopedic Surgeon to discuss what is next.  There will be no surgery but I'm hoping that there is some PT available for me.

What is your "cold" cut off for running?

Mine is usually around 32.  I don't want to freeze!
